Setup
Start the connection
Click + in the composer and choose Linear, or open Settings → Connectors.
Approve in Linear
Linear's sign-in opens in a pop-up. Pick the workspace and approve.
Permissions
- Sands acts as you, with your Linear permissions. It cannot see or change anything you cannot.
- Your token is stored encrypted against your Sands account. Sands never sees your password.
- Disconnect from Settings → Connectors, or revoke access from Linear's settings.
Good to know
- Sands does not create teams. Create the team in Linear, then ask Sands to work in it.
- Long workstream descriptions are shortened to fit Linear's milestone description.
- Owners, priorities, estimates and dependencies in a plan stay in Sands when you send it.
See Sending and exporting for the full mapping.
Troubleshooting
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| Sands asks you to reconnect | Linear access expired. Click Reconnect; the request resumes. |
| A team or project is missing | Check the workspace you approved, and that your Linear account is a member of that team. |
| Sands does not create teams | Teams are workspace structure. Create the team in Linear, then ask Sands to work in it. |
