Changing it in chat

With a plan open, anything you ask about the plan changes that plan. Sands shows each change in the document as it makes it and tells you exactly what changed.

Changing details

Owners, due dates, priorities and the project dates change field by field. Sands touches only what you asked about and leaves everything else as it was.

Try asking

Assign the QA tickets to June and make the checkout work High priority

Try asking

The work starts Oct 7 now

Moving the dates reschedules the tickets that depend on them. The reply names what changed, and anything it could not do, such as a ticket with nobody on the team who fits.

Changing content

Ask for bigger changes in plain language: add a workstream, cut scope, rewrite the goal, add a section. Sands keeps text you wrote in the document unless you ask it to change that text.

Try asking

Tighten this to two workstreams and move QA into the build stream

Try asking

Add a rollout section with a staged launch

Watching a change land

Sands saves the change, then plays it in the document one place at a time: the dates, each ticket it touched, each section, each question it answered. A cursor marks where Sands is working; nothing is tinted or highlighted. The run in the chat lists the same steps.

Finding what changed later

The drawer's top bar shows Updated just now after Sands edits. Click it to step through each place that changed, even after a reload.

Undoing a change

  • Press ⌘ + Z right after Sands' change lands to undo all of it.
  • Or open the title menu and choose Undo last Sands edit.
  • Undo reverses the whole change at once, so the plan returns to exactly how it was.

Asking about the plan

Questions about the plan are answered from the saved plan without changing it: how many tickets there are, who owns what, whether it is ready for a tool.

Try asking

Is this ready to send to Linear?

Changes to a plan never send it

Editing a plan in chat only changes the plan in Sands. Sending is a separate step you take with Send to or by asking Sands to send it.
